Free kit identifies how to improve your soil

Wouldn't this be an educational project for the kids to do??

Pick up a free soil sampling kit for lawn, garden, field and landscaping areas at N.C. Cooperative Extension-Cabarrus County Center, located at 715 Cabarrus Avenue West in Concord. Just follow the simple instructions and then mail your soil sample to get a full evaluation and recommendation. Details: contact Extension Agent David Goforth at 704-920-3310 or [email protected]

~Sarah has suggested a field trip to JARS in Waxhaw.  If anyone else has a comment or suggestion for this trip please let us know.  Due to scheduling conflicts on the only days JAARS has available for the Fall, we are intending to go forwad with planning a Spring trip.

~Loretta is intending to hold a Coupon Class to demonstrate four basic techniques for saving money on your grocery bill.  If you have a day/time suggestion please email her   [email protected]  .

Alpaca Class

Posted by LorettaCrops on July 13, 2012 at 8:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Alpaca class is open again to anyone wishing to train their alpaca and show it at the 2013 County Fair in September.  If your alpaca from last year is still available you are welcome to work with the same animal.  Now that all family medical issues seem to be resolved, I plan to keep this class going year round with training times changing for weather / daylight.  Weather schedule is under review.   If your family needs a specific day/time, please set it up with me, I am usually here anyway, and having people here at different times is actually good for the animals - less stress.  Participation is $15 to offset the cost of vetting each animal before the fair.  Those needing financial assistance are welcome to ask, and donations to help with these and other expenses are gladly accepted.
